Product Associate, Liability Driven Investment (LDI), PIMCO – Newport Beach
PIMCO seeks a Product Associate to assist with efforts in the Liability Driven Investment (LDI) Group in Newport Beach, CA. This position will work with and support the product management team.
Responsibilities
• Participate in the design, implementation, and monitoring of liability-driven investment solutions
• Partner with the Investment Solutions Group and perform asset/liability analysis to structure customized LDI solutions
• Assist in the development of new LDI products and funds
• Lever the effectiveness of the LDI product management team by supervising data/information coordination and analysis
• Work with the product team to monitor and manage the project queue to help prioritize opportunities; follow up with Account Managers to ensure continued connectivity and sustained involvement with clients
• Be an internal resource for client servicing and marketing groups for LDI-related questions and inquiries
• Ad Hoc research projects related to the pension, insurance and investments markets
• Maintain marketing materials such as presentation books and other general education materials
• Compile data and create monthly and quarterly attribution and commentary for the suite of long duration mutual funds
• Assist with LDI RFPs
Position Requirements:
• Two to four years of related investment experience is desired• Experience working with pensions (i.e. through investment consulting, actuarial or banking research background) highly desired
• A major in Business/Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or Accounting preferred
• Strong quantitative/analytical skills
• Strong production and results orientation
• Strong oral and written skills (i.e. the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and succinctly)
• Well organized, high energy level/self-starter, must work well in a team environment
• Ability to work professionally as an individual and in a team environment with all levels of personnel
• Enthusiasm for the financial markets and investment management
• Good fixed income and/or derivatives investment knowledge base required
• Advanced knowledge of Excel and reasonable proficiency with Business Query, Bloomberg and other index provider systems (Yield Book, etc.) preferred
• CFA designation or active status in program desired
• Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines
• Intellectually curious
