Title:  CFO (Financial/ Brokerage Firm) (959-001-711)
Location:  Orange County, CA
Compensation: Commensurate with experience
Summary:
The candidate should possess a solid background in accounting, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and preferably has previously worked in the securities and brokerage industry. Having a Series 27 “Fin Op” license, or past employment with a broker-dealer in the capacity of a Fin Op Principal, is desirable. The CFO will be a member of the executive team, attending board meetings, making financial presentations, talking to the Firm’s institutional clients, etc. Ideally, he or she should be competent and comfortable discussing financial issues and regulatory rules with FINRA, SEC and IRS regulators.
Responsibilities:
  • Review daily margin reports/trade reports
  • Review/reconcile all statements/ invoices from clearing firm
  • Prepare special trade files for upload
  • Generate trade blotters
  • Review commission statements
  • Process commission checks/ACH payments
  • Enter/process Accounts payable
  • Reconcile all bank accounts
  • Prepare haircut spreadsheets
  • Prepare accrued commissions spreadsheets
  • Prepare AP/AR spreadsheets
  • Generate financials
  • Prepare net capital computation
  • Prepare/file focus reports
  • Prepare/file SSOI
Requirements:
  • BA/BS Degree in business, accounting, finance or related field
  • CPA or equivalent
  • 5 years minimum accounting experience, preferably in the securities/brokerage industry
  • Series 27 securities license (Fin Op) would be considered a strong plus
  • Strong management/organizational skills
  • Experienced with a multitude of software/accounting applications
  • Ability to analyze/clearly explain financial/accounting issues
  • Must have analytical ability with excellent detail orientation
