Operations Associate / Trade Settlements Administrator - Newport Beach, CA
The Operations Administrator will work on a five person team within the operations department of a growing investment advisor with offices in Los Angeles and Orange County. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: trade settlements, account reconciliation, process new account documentation for wrap program accounts, account set up, review and maintenance, separate account and mutual fund reconciliation and administration, assist with corporate actions, and document management. Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a major in Finance, Business Administration or Accounting, Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant financial services industry experience, advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint , Strong quantitative skills, Excellent verbal and written communication skills, Working knowledge of Advent APX and MOXY, Knowledge of FiservAPL, Bloomberg and macros a plus.
Temporary assignment (Jan 1 - March 2015) Fund Accountant - Newport Beach, CA
The position will be responsible for maintaining the books and records for various private partnerships and accounts, as well as preparing portfolio analysis reporting. Additional responsibilities will include:
· Preparing and maintaining the books and records of hedge funds;
· Daily accounting for and reconciliation of trading activity;
· Reconciling the funds’ positions/securities to outside sources;
· Performing month-end close processes and assisting with calculation of fund NAVs;
· Preparing of daily and monthly P&L, attribution and exposure reporting and
· Performing other tasks as required.
Required Experience - minimum 3 years accounting experience within the investment management industry, preferably in hedge fund; Strong knowledge of reconciliation and account analysis; Long / short positions; Excellent understanding of accounting; and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
