Data Analyst, Hedge Fund (1061-1) - New York City
 
Compensation: Commensurate with experience
Summary/Responsibilities:
  • Establish/maintain data integrity and clearly communicate insights across various divisions
  • Collaborate with different departments on production/delivery/warehousing of complex data sets
  • Play integral role in firm’s extensive interaction with various financial vendors on data management/customized reporting solutions, as well as development/implementation of ongoing enhancements
  • Liaise with prime brokers/managers/internal operations to reconcile all trade flow activity between firm’s risk management systems/custodial reports
  • Prepare/distribute daily (as well as multiple intraday) internal reports/analyses
  • Onboard new managers/custodians into firm’s real-time customized automated risk analysis/reporting framework, as well as assist with integration of various manager trading platforms as necessary
Requirements:
  • BA degree in Computer Science, Quantitative Finance or other quantitative field
  • 2+ years of programming experience with financial institution (preferably hedge fund or proprietary trading firm)
  • Exceptional Python, Excel and VBA skills including expertise working with complex data sets in Python
  • Candidates must have strong computer skills, including data management skills (with emphasis on accuracy), detail orientation, robust analytical skills, ability to work in a team environment, exceptional work ethic and strong interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with various financial software solutions such as Bloomberg preferred, but not required
  • Knowledge of SQL and databases, as well as other programming experience, is a plus
